The Khar residence was designed as a contemporary urban home that balances warmth with clarity, creating a space that feels refined yet comfortable for everyday living. The approach focused on maintaining a neutral palette, clean lines, and a sense of openness, allowing the interiors to feel light and cohesive throughout.

Material selection plays a key role in establishing this balance. Soft beige tones form the base of the home, complemented by subtle wooden finishes that introduce warmth without overpowering the space. Surfaces are kept minimal and controlled, with textures and materials layered thoughtfully to add depth while maintaining visual simplicity.

The living area is designed to feel open and inviting, with furniture arranged to encourage interaction while maintaining clear circulation. A combination of soft furnishings, warm lighting, and clean wall treatments creates a calm and elegant environment. Subtle detailing, such as wall panelling and curated décor elements, adds character without introducing visual clutter.

The kitchen follows a minimal and functional approach, with a monochromatic laminate palette that enhances continuity with the rest of the home. Clean shutter designs and integrated storage ensure efficiency, while maintaining a seamless visual language.

In the private areas, the design shifts towards comfort and subtle luxury. The master bedroom is defined by a combination of soft wall panelling, warm lighting, and a restrained material palette, creating a restful and sophisticated atmosphere. The wardrobe and storage elements are designed to blend into the space, maintaining a clean and uncluttered look.

The guest bedroom continues the same language, with wooden accents and neutral finishes creating a warm yet understated environment. The design remains minimal while ensuring functionality and comfort for everyday use.

Bathrooms are treated with a refined material palette, combining light-toned surfaces with clean fixtures to create a sense of spaciousness. The use of large-format tiles and minimal detailing enhances the overall clarity of the space, while lighting is designed to be both functional and ambient.

Lighting across the home is carefully planned to enhance the material palette and spatial experience. Warm lighting in living and bedroom areas creates a comfortable ambiance, while brighter lighting in functional zones ensures usability without disrupting the overall mood.

The overall design focuses on restraint, proportion, and subtle detailing. The result is a home that feels calm, cohesive, and quietly elegant — where simplicity becomes the defining element of luxury.
